Youth and Children's Ministry
Are you looking for an exciting Sunday School program for your children this Fall? We
have what you’re looking for here at Crossroads United Methodist Church at the corner of
Haslett and Zimmer roads. Our worship service begins at 9:30 a.m. and Sunday School
begins at 11 a.m., with coffee and snacks in between.

We will be kicking off all of our Children’s and Adult Sunday School classes on September
9, 2007 with a barbecue and potluck starting at 12:00 p.m.  Everyone is being asked to
bring a dish to pass and your own place settings. (We always have extra food if you forget,
however!)  Special entertainment will include games for the kids and adults.

Our Fall Children’s classes will begin on September 9, 2007, introducing everyone and the
expectations of the class.  It will be a shorter than usual class, with games until 12:00 p.m.
Most of the adult classes will start on September 16, 2007.

Our preschool class is geared towards children ages 3-5.  They learn about important
people and stories of the Bible through developmentally-appropriate, hands-on projects
related to the story.  This class will meet downstairs in room A, with Joe Besko teaching.

Our elementary class is geared towards children in first through fourth grade.  We are using
a new curriculum this year, which teaches the important stories and people of the Bible
through hands-on activities and projects.  This class will meet downstairs in room B, with
the teachers, including Judy Shane, Cathy Fisher, and Jan Knox, rotating.

Our middle school class is geared towards children in fifth through eighth grade.  This will
be a Bible study class with relevant activities and projects.  In addition, each student will
receive a devotional book to use throughout the week that correlates with the lessons. This
class will meet downstairs in room D, with teachers, including Jeff and Judy Shane and
Cathy Fisher, rotating.

Our high-school class is geared towards students in ninth through twelfth grade.  This
discussion-based class meets in room E, with Diane Vincent and Julie Skinner teaching.

Our Rizen service is on Sunday afternoons at 4 p.m.  It is geared towards youth with
upbeat praise music and relevant messages, but everyone is welcome.  After the Rizen
service, chill time for 5th-12th grade students is until 6 p.m. This is an opportunity for
teens to have fun in a Christian setting.  Our Middle school youth group, from 6-6:30, will
be starting soon as well.  Please call Cathy Fisher @ 655-1466 for more information.

Junior Church, a youth-oriented worship time with music and hands-on bible stories for
elementary students will be starting soon.  Please contact the church @ 655-1466 for more
information.

We are looking forward to having you join us for any of these opportunities to worship God
and learn more about Him.  If you have any questions, you can call the church @ 655-
1466, Cathy Fisher or Rev. Dobbs.  In addition, we are looking for adults willing to lend a
helping hand in preschool and elementary classrooms.  Please call Cathy if you would be
willing to help.
